Chef Adam Monteverde is a native of Greene County. He earned his degree at The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY in 2004. After completing his extern at the Park Avenue Café in New York City under Executive Chef Neil Murphy, Adam came to understand the definition of perfection. “It takes a lot of commitment and hard work to be the best, but if you are not striving to be the best than you should not even try at all”.

After graduation, Adam ventured to California to work with Executive Chef Larent Marique and Chef de Cuisine Peter Armilino at Aqua Restaurant in San Francisco. “When I came to California my goal was to learn how to cook fish, I was amazed at how much more I learned at Aqua.”

Adam then took an opportunity to work on Nantucket Island at the prestigious Straight Wharf Restaurant. “The experience of working on the Island was life changing. From the quality of the ingredients to the culture of the Island, my food will always reflect Nantucket.”

Upon the seasons end Adam then decided to work in Las Vegas at the very popular FIX Restaurant in the Bellagio Hotel and Casino. “Vegas was an exciting and energetic place to cook. The amount of quality food that we produced in a night at FIX was mind-boggling.”

Adam then decided the bright lights of Las Vegas were growing dim and returned to his roots in the Catskill Mountains. “I was delighted to start working at The Stewart House in Athens. The opportunity to complete a total restaurant makeover has been a challenging and rewarding project. My goal is to bring my experience back home.”
